Before you entered seminary, what were you doing: Prior to beginning my time in seminary, I was teaching English in Japan for 5 years.

What is an interesting fact about you: I’m a second degree black belt in kendo ( Japanese fencing)

Who is your favorite Saint and why: My favorite saint is St. John Paul 2. He was one of the most, if not the greatest Marian popes we have had. His heart was so in love with the Blessed mother who in turn is devoted to her son, our lord. Mary will always lead us to her son. JP2 lived his life for Christ and through his mother taught the world how fall in deeper love with Jesus.

What advice would you give to someone discerning the priesthood: I would tell them to pray and talk to a  trusted priest. And don’t be afraid to try.
