Make Cards for the nursing homes and assisted living locations: Many of the elderly often feel alone. Show them you care by sending cards and notes to nursing homes and assisted living locations in your area.
Shop for someone who is vulnerable: Think of those in your neighborhood or your Church who you might know are in the vulnerable category. Call them and ask if they need you to go shopping for them so they don't have to risk their health to get groceries and other essentials. Shop and drop things off at the porch for them.
Pray for the Dying and Dead: When someone dies they are still in need of our prayer. We pray for God's mercy and their complete conversion to the love of God upon their death. When you see in the news someone has died say some prayers for them. You may also pray for those who are dying. You can pray a Chaplet of Divine Mercy, or a Rosary both can be found Here.
Pray for those without income: Many people are struggling or have lost their jobs, consider offering daily prayers for them.
Sign up for Adoration: If you are at low risk sign up to take an hour of adoration so Churches can keep their adoration times going. We need prayer now more than ever.
Donate or Volunteer: Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Kalamazoo has stepped up their efforts. Contact them at https://ccdok.org/ to get involved by donating or volunteering your time if you are able. Or contact your parish to find financial and other needs to assist with.
Call a homebound person: Many homebound are lonely. You may even be homebound. Both healthy and vulnerable alike. Make sure you call and talk to others who can not get out and have interactions with others.
Make artwork and stick in your windows: Make different types of artwork and place them in your windows to cheer up those who are going for walks in the neighborhood. Or use sidewalk chalk to create artwork or inspirational messages on your local sidewalks. You can make a stained glass window with water color paint.
Set up an Online Prayer Group: Use Zoom, Facebook, Instagram or other methods to setup an online group to gather and pray regularly.
Pray for others intentions: Use social media and other contact methods you have to ask people for their prayer intentions and pray for them throughout the day. Remember that if you are suffering in any way, you can unite those to the suffering of Christ for additional graces for them.
Rosary Walk: Walk through your neighborhood praying a rosary asking for Mary's protection over the whole neighborhood..
Share Online Resources: Share with others any resources you find to learn the faith, pray devotionals etc.
Greetings while out: While you are out and about doing your shopping please make sure you smile and greet people. Let them know to have a blessed day not just a safe day.
Lights at Easter: Put up your lights from Christmas (minus the Christmas specific decorations) and turn them on Holy Saturday evening, as a reminder of the light of Christ spreading through the world, keep them on nightly during this holy time.
