December 21, 2021 (KALAMAZOO, MI) Bishop Paul J. Bradley released the following statement in light of the announcement on the appointment of the Sixth Bishop of the Diocese of Gaylord: “On behalf of the entire Church of Kalamazoo, in this Advent Season of Hope, we rejoice in today’s announcement by our Holy Father Pope Francis, naming Rev. Jeffrey J. Walsh, a priest of the Diocese of Scranton, as the Sixth Bishop of the Diocese of Gaylord. We join in prayers of thanksgiving with our Sister Diocese, as they prepare to welcome their new Bishop during their 50th Jubilee Year. I look forward to the opportunities we will have to collaborate with all the other Bishops for the good of the Church throughout Michigan. May Bishop-elect Walsh and all those entrusted to his Episcopal care be assured of the prayerful support of the Diocese of Kalamazoo during these weeks of transition.”
Bishop Bradley is urging all Catholics and all people of good will to pray for all those impacted by these devastating events and to prayerfully consider financial assistance to those in need by supporting the disaster relief efforts of Catholic Charities USA
