How do I discern?

Thank you for visiting our Vocations website! If you are wanting more information about applying to seminary, have questions about the priesthood, or need guidance, please know that the Office of Vocations is here to assist you in any way we can.

I highly recommend that any young man discerning the priesthood begin by having conversations with the pastor of his home parish. He will be able to best guide and accompany you, especially within the early stages of your discernment.

It is also important that, as you begin to ask the Lord what His will is for your life, that you spend time in silent prayer, growing in your love for Him and learning how to hear his promptings.
